Cormac O'Dea is an Assistant Professor at the Yale University Economics Department. Cormac is also a Research Associate of the IFS. He previously worked at the IFS from 2007 to 2017, and was an Associate Director from 2016 to 2017.

This presentation was given at an event to launch a report on the evolution of wealth and attitudes towards saving, at the Institute for Fiscal Studies on 19 November 2015.
In this report, the authors aim to improve understanding of wealth holdings of individual households considerably using new data from the Wealth and Assets Survey (WAS).

A conference to consider the link between household wealth and both long-run and short-run policy questions. Jointly organised by the Institute for Fiscal Studies and Public Economics UK, with funding from the Nuffield Foundation, the Bank of England and the ESRC.
This paper received the 2017 Atkinson Award. The award is named Tony Atkinson, who was the founding editor of JPubE in 1972 and served as editor for 26 years, and is given every other year to the best paper published in the Journal of Public Economics.
This paper sets out some issues which must be tackled in modelling the impact of changes to public service spending and discusses some approaches that are being undertaken in other countries.
Researchers at the Institute for Fiscal Studies have found some similarities as well as some stark differences between the response of households to the current recession and the previous two.
