Olympia is an economist at the DG Economics, Statistics and Research of the Banco de España, where she is currently Director of the Department of Structural Analysis and Microeconomic Studies, a Research Associate of the IFS and a member of the CPP Advisory Board at IFS. Her research includes empirical interests in housing and labour markets, household finance, and consumer behaviour. She also has methodological interests in microeconometrics and survey methods.

The prize is one of the highest awards for economics in Spain. Olympia is also a member of the Advisory Board for the Centre for the Microeconomic Analysis of Public Policy, the ESRC research institute based at the IFS.
