Gianluca Violante is a Professor of Economics at Princeton University and a Research Associate of the IFS.
His main research interests are in macroeconomics and labor economics. Among other journals, he has published his research in the American Economic Review, Econometrica, Journal of Political Economy, Quarterly Journal of Economics, and Review of Economic Studies. He has also published in several top-field journals.
This paper examines the equilibrium effects of alternative financial aid policies intended to promote college participation. We build an overlapping generations life-cycle, heterogeneous-agent, incomplete-markets model with education, labor supply, and consumption/saving decisions.
