IFS Research Associate Dr Antonella Bancalari has recieved the Fulbright-Royal Society of Edinburgh Award, which enables her to conduct research at the Economic Growth Centre at Yale University.

The US-UK Fulbright Commission works to advance knowledge, promote civic engagement and develop compassionate leaders through education exchange between the peoples of the US and the UK, and the Fulbright Program of awards is considered one of the most prestigious scholarship awards in the world.

Bancalari will join the Economic Growth Centre, Department of Economics at Yale University, to research fiscal decentralization and the effective delivery of public works in low- and middle-income countries.

Commenting on receiving the Award, Antonella said: “It is a great honour to be the recipient of a UK-US Fulbright Award. This fellowship is a unique opportunity to join a renowned group of Development Economists based at Yale’s Economic Growth Centre. As a Fulbright scholar I look forward to sharing my research and field-work experience, starting new collaborations, and learning how leading academics promote evidence-based policymaking globally.”
