Brexit and Europe

The IFS is part of the ESRC’s UK in a Changing Europe initiative. In the run-up to the EU referendum, our work focused on the EU budget and the potential economic and fiscal effects of leaving the EU, providing a vital impartial voice in the debate. Since the vote to leave the EU our focus has switched to trade, with forthcoming work exploring the effects of trade shocks on labour market outcomes and regional economies, and potential policy responses.
