Sarthak Agrawal

Sarthak attended Delhi’s Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) for a BA in Economics. Prior to this, he was first in the country of 1.2 million Indian students- and with the highest aggregate till date- in his school leaving examination. Sarthak had previously interned at the policy think tank ICRIER and in the Office of the Principal Economic Adviser to the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. He also published an empirical paper on bilateral investment treaties, which went on to win a best paper award at a World Bank-sponsored conference of South Asian economics researchers. He has further volunteered for 18 months at the international nonprofit Enactus, helping women manual scavengers, traditional Indian puppeteers and impoverished dairy farmers raise incomes and improve their living conditions in a sustainable manner. While in college, he served as the Chief Coordinator of SRCC’s annual economic summit, the Convenor of the TEDxSRCC conference, and the initiator of a nonprofit intervention in the education sector called ‘The SRCC Open Courseware Initiative’.

Within economics, he is most interested in international trade and development, while ultimately he wishes to formulate economic policies for the Indian government.
