Monica Costa Dias is Deputy Research Director at the IFS and Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Porto. Her areas of research interest are mainly on labour economics, the economics of education and public economics.

Her work has focused on understanding the determinants of individual and household choices, including human capital investments, labour supply and intra-household allocation of resources, and the consequences of these choices and the environment individuals live in for the formation of inequalities over the course of life and for the evaluation and design of tax and welfare policies.
