The Institute for Fiscal Studies is holding an evidence workshop in September to review and discuss what we know about child poverty and life chances. One aim is to ensure that future child poverty policy is informed by what we have learnt about policy structure and implementation over the last decade. The subject of the workshop is closely related to that of Frank Field's review for the Prime Minister but the workshop is organised independently of his review. It should also be relevant for the child poverty strategy which the new Government has to publish by March 2011. The workshop should be of benefit to civil servants, politicians, academics, and others involved in the policy-making process.

There will be four sessions, each with 2 or 3 speakers.
