Chancellor Philip Hammond delivered the Autumn Budget on Monday 29 October 2018 - the first Budget to be held on a Monday since 1962. IFS researchers presented their initial analysis of the Chancellor's announcements on the public finances, spending on public services, and the tax and the benefit system on the following day, Tuesday 30 October, at a lunchtime briefing chaired and introduced by IFS Director Paul Johnson in central London.
