At this evening event, journalist and author Robert Peston will talk about issues raised by his latest book, WTF, with IFS Director Paul Johnson.

The book examines some of the recent political developments in the UK and asks what can be done to mend fractures in our society. Topics covered by the book include:

  • How it is possible to make a success of leaving the EU;
  • Whether robots can be stopped from taking our work;
  • Who is to blame for the failures of austerity; and
  • What can be done to reignite social mobility, ease the widening gap between rich and poor and raise living standards for all.

Following Robert's and Paul's discussion of the book, they will answer questions from the audience.

The discussion will take place between 18:30 and 19:45, and will be followed by a book signing and drinks until 20.30.
