The ETPF/IFS conference will include a mix of policy and research presentations. Confirmed research presentations include:

  • What will the OECD BEPS Indicators indicate? Christoph Spengel, Jost Heckemeyer and Katharina Nicolay (University of Mannheim)

This paper will discuss the pros and cons of the indicators for base erosion and profit shifting proposed by the OECD in its BEPS project in Action 11.

  • Do domestic companies pay more tax in the UK than multinationals? Katarzyna Habu (Oxford University)

This paper uses confidential data from UK corporate tax returns data to compare the taxable profit of purely domestic companies with that of equivalent UK subsidiaries of foreign multinationals.

  • Political processes in the development of action on multinational taxation. Maya Forstater (Center for Global Development) and Rasmus C. Christensen (Copenhagen Business School)

This paper will address the political processes that have led to public and political concern, and national and international action, about multinational taxation.

This conference is organised by the European Tax Policy Forum (ETPF) and by the ESRC Centre for the Microeconomic Analysis of Public Policy at IFS.
