On Wednesday 25th November the Chancellor delivered the first Autumn Statement and Spending Review of this parliament. This included spending allocations for Whitehall departments through to 2019-20.
On the following day, Thursday 26th November, the IFS held a lunchtime briefing in the Beveridge Hall, Senate House, London. At this event IFS researchers presented an initial assessment of the consequences for government departments, the size of spending cuts required and an analysis of any new tax and benefit changes.

Luke is a Research Fellow at the IFS and his general research interests include education policy, political economy and poverty and inequality.

David is Head of Devolved and Local Government Finance. He also works on tax in developing countries as part of our TaxDev centre.
