IFS aims to put all its research findings in the public domain, either in our own publications or in other people's (ranging from peer-reviewed academic journals to newspaper articles). Most of the Institute's own publications are available free of charge online and some are also sold in hard copy. Among our own publications: Commentaries, such as our annual Green Budget, are substantial documents on current policy issues, aimed at a policy-aware audience. Reports cover similar topics, with a longer shelf life, and have a broader policy and academic readership. Briefing notes are intended to be accessible to as wide an audience as possible. Working papers are work in progress, that should not be regarded as the definitive view of the authors. Observations are brief analyses of current policy developments. Reports and Commentaries are available in hard copy. Briefing notes, working papers and observations are published online only. The IFS journal, Fiscal Studies, is a peer-reviewed quarterly publication, which publishes articles submitted by a range of academics and practitioners in the field. Browse publications & research
