This work, conducted jointly with the Institute for Employment Research at the University of Warwick, will quantify the likely impact on the distribution of income (and in particular, measures of poverty and inequality) of changes in the structure of the labour market. Using micro-simulation techniques developed at IFS, the impact of changes in the occupational and industrial structure of the labour market, and changes in the distribution of earnings across occupations, will be assessed.
