The Youth Opportunity Fund and the Youth Capital Fund (YOF/YCF) were established in 2006 with the aim of funding positive activities for young people across all local authorities (LAs). The Funds received total funding of £155 million. The Funds aimed to increase the provision of positive activities for young people in each local authority by giving young people the ability to determine how the YOF or YCF resources might be spent in their area. Young people could themselves apply to the funds to either develop particular facilities requiring capital investment (YCF) or to introduce particular positive activities into their local authority (YOF). Decisions about YOF and YCF funding were made by panels of young people. Search |
