Childcare use and mothers' employment

There are two stages to this project:

  • Review the most promising methodologies that could tell us how mothers employment rates are linked to the supply of formal childcare, discussing their advantages and disadvantages, their data requirements and feasibility in the UK.
  • Investigate recent trends in childcare use amongst families in Great Britain, and provide a thorough comparison of the different household survey and administrative datasets.
