This project aims to explore the feasibility of modelling the UK minimum wage within a structural dynamic model, taking into account the current literature on structural labour market models and the datasets available for the UK. The long-term aim of the project is to facilitate policy evaluation indicating how changes in the minimum wage regime might affect the wage distribution, the unemployment rate, educational choices and other aspects of labour market behaviour, particularly for young workers.
