Health, disability, disability benefits and labour market activity
Funded by: Cera Consortium
Date started: 01 January 2003
The issue of health, disability benefits and early retirement is one of huge policy significance. Although the current data available to address this question is relatively limited we are already engaged in two research projects looking at these issues, both looking at the effects of the 1995 reform to benefit rules. Looking forward, research using ELSA data will prove particularly useful in putting together a coherent picture of changes in health, labour market status and economic position for older individuals.
