The prize is a 3000 euros award for the best PhD thesis defended in 2006 in France. It is awarded jointly by the French Economics Association (or AFSE, Association Francaise de Science Economique) and by the Banque de France (the French central bank, ie the Bank of England). The prize was awarded in La Sorbonne in Paris on September 20th by Jean Pisani-Ferry, president of the AFSE association.
