The Institute for Fiscal Studies held a day of talks on issues in public economics of interest to undergraduates in economics and related disciplines on 13 December 2011. The aim was to focus on the policy implications of research carried out at the institute. Topics included: The fiscal impact of the crisis and the policy response, Taxation in the UK, Environmental taxes, Taxes and labour supply, Poverty and inequality, UK pensions policy, Corporate taxes, globalisation and intellectual property, Higher education funding and School competition and finance.
