Drawing on extensive expertise in policy evaluation, IFS analysed the Pathways to Work programme, which aims to help incapacity benefit claimants back to work. This work was presented widely to the policy community and the report was quoted in Parliament by the Minister of State for Employment and Welfare Reform. It also provided valuable input to the National Audit Office report on the Pathways to Work programme, and has contributed to the intense debate over how best to reduce the number of disability benefit claimants.
