Nutrition and Education Programme in Latin America: lunchtime seminar
Speakers will present an evaluation of Familias en Accion, a nutrition and education programme in Colombia.
This development programme, modelled on similar initiatives such as PROGRESA in Mexico, aims to combat poverty in some of Colombia's poorest communities by offering a conditional subsidy to education and nutrition. This session will discuss the project in detail and will present an assessment of the programme's impact on health, enrolment in schools and take-up rates of vaccinations and development check-ups.
