The eleventh IFS residential conference will be held at St John's College, Oxford on 4th and 5th April 2003. The focus of the conference will be recent and prospective reforms to the UK's business tax system. Under the title, "Building a Competitive Tax System", the conference will debate the changes that the Government has made or is considering to improve the attraction of the UK, both as a location for inward business investment and as a base for international operations by multinational enterprises. The discussion will consider the UK system with particular reference to its immediate European context.

The conference will bring together representatives of the business community, practitioners, policymakers and academics to consider the issues in the relaxed surroundings of St John's College. Conference delegates will assemble for dinner on Thursday, 3rd April and the conference will close at lunchtime on Saturday, 5th April. The emphasis of the conference programme will be to provide the maximum opportunity for discussion and the exchange of views amongst all attending.

The conference fee for those registering to attend before 1st November 2002 will be £450 + VAT for IFS members and £500 + VAT for non-members. To reserve a place, download the booking form.
