Correction to Election Briefing note:
Proposed Tax and Benefit Changes Winners and losers in the next term

We are sorry to say that there was an error in the election briefing note we put out on 28 April on winners and losers from tax and benefit reforms. For all three parties we showed the winter fuel allowance dropping to £100 in 2006 whereas the correct figure is £150.

This means that the impact of the proposed changes by 2009-10 was a slightly bigger gain or smaller loss in pensioner incomes than the note suggested. The relative generosity of the parties' plans is unaffected.
