Partnerships

The Centre is based at the Institute for Fiscal Studies and at the Department of Economics at University College London. The IFS is one of the leading public policy institutes in the UK and has strong links with the Department of Economics at University College London, one of the top research department in the UK. The IFS hosts an ESRC-funded Centre for the Microeconomic Analysis of Public Policy, directed by Richard Blundell and a Leverhulme Foundation funded Centre for Microdata Methods and Practice (cemmap) directed by Andrew Chesher. The synergies between these centres and EDePo are obvious.

For the evaluation of specific programs in Developing countries, EDePo establishes partnerships with local research institutions. For the evaluation of the three Colombian welfare programs in which the Centre is involved (Familias en Acción, Empleo en Acción and Jóvenes en Acción) EDePo has established a partnership with Econometria, a research institute established 25 years ago in Bogotá and with SEI a firm that specializes in the collection of data in rural Colombia.

The centre has direct links with CIDE, Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas, to collaborate in the evaluation of several welfare programs in Mexico.

The Centre also has contact with other researchers in Britain, Europe, the US and Latin America as well as International Financial institutions such as the IMF, the World Bank and the InterAmerican Development Bank. The Centre co-organized with the Research Department of the IADB the first meeting of the Social Policy Monitoring Network.
