Carl Emmerson, Deputy Director at the IFS, has been appointed to the UK Statistics Authority’s Methodological Assurance Review Panel (MARP).
Formed by the National Statistician, MARP reviews and provides advice and assurance on methods used to produce official statistics. Its remit has now been expanded to include change programmes across the Office for National Statistics.
The panel will focus on programmes including the 2023 Recommendation on the future of Population Statistics, the transformation of Household finances and the transformed labour force survey.
